DAY 49 16th September Busselton to Pemberton

DAY 49

16th September
Busselton to Pemberton

Up early again and on our way as we haven’t looked around Busselton yet. They have a 2km jetty which we walked 1.8km as far as you can go before the fence. It was used for logging ships years ago and now is a local fishing spot.

We headed off to Nannup the home of the Tiger. They use to have the same tiger as Tassie!!! They have a lovely arbotorium in town with lovely gardens and carved totem poles. We are entering BIG timber country.

We continued on to Ballingup a little scarecrow town with a big timber bridge over the river. A great spot for lunch and watch the swans and ducks.

We detoured to Boyup Brook to check out some interesting sculptures and holograms around the town. Very quiet place on Sundays.
Next stop was the Gloucester Tree, one of three huge trees that you are allowed to climb. 153 rungs to the viewing platform 60m above the ground. It was MASSIVE. Paul climbed to the top, Nev went to first level and I started but very scary!!!

On to Pemberton for the night.
