Day 29 27th August Millsteam Chichester National Park

DAY 29

27th August
Millstream Chichester National Park

Millstream Homestead
We had a sleep in and then went to the Homestead for a walk. It was the original homestead for this station and was used up until the 1960's. They have  preserved the house and sheds very well and have a self guided walk told by the 12 year old son that lived there. The walk took us around the grounds where there is permanent water and a lovely pond with water lillies on it.

Lovely water lillies

It was very hot and the walk was a couple of hours through the spinafex grass, past a lot of wildflowers and we came to another camp ground right on the Fortescue River where you could swim. 100% nicer than where we were camped but not enough camp spots for all of us.

Some nice parts of the park but it is very hot here and no shade where we are camped. We went off to a swimming area on the river for lunch and a swim. Fed the fish with bread and some large catfish came up to the side as well.
