DAY 7
5th August
Quilpie to Bedourie
Left early as we have a couple of big days ahead. We are travelling through "Channel Country" now. Very flat for as far as you can see. Small scrubby bushes or gibber plains. Lots of animals and road kill and huge road trains full of cattle. Best to pull off road and let them go passed as they don't slow down for anyone. Passed Coopers Creek a great place for a free camp. Next town was Windorah and they have a Solar Power Farm as you come in to the town.

Now we have hit dirt road again for a few more days. Quite a lot of corrugations but not too bad. Very dusty. We saw a lot of frill neck lizards on the road tried not to squash any of them. Nev stopped and took a photo not much traffic out here now.
Frill Neck Lizard good camouflage on dirt road!
"Hole in the Rock" Can you spot it???
We were looking for a lunch spot and in the middle of no where we came across a billabong with 2 caravans stopped and lots of bird life so we had lunch there. Absolutely nothing around anywhere else not even a tree.

Arrived at Bedourie after 4pm and checked in and went in to the Artesian Spa, it was 54 degrees OUCH! You had to inch your way in and couldn't stay in for more than 15 mins, you felt liked you were a well done steak.
