Trephina Gorge to Alice Springs
Bit of a sleep in today and cooked brekky as we haven't got far to travel. Went for the gorge walk only a couple of kilometres but just spectacular scenery. We climbed to top of gorge and walked around the top before climbing down and walking back through the gorge itself. The colours are amazing especially when the sun hits the rocks.

Walking back through the gorge had to cross on stepping rocks at times.
Lots of lovely wild flowers scattered throughout the bush.
Flowering gums were beautiful.
We packed up cars and headed out of Trephina Gorge National Park to the Ghost Gum. It is 300 hundred years old a very spectacular tree. When you rub your hand on the trunk of these trees it is covered in white powder that is unique to this type of tree.

After the ghost gum we continued on to "Corroboree Rock". this is a very sacred site for the aborigines and a very unusual rock. It sticks up from the surrounding ground and is wide on the front face but very narrow from the side. It has a couple of holes and caves in it too.

We continued on towards Alice Springs and stopped off at Jesse Gap and Emily Gap. Narrow openings of river beds with some aboriginal art on the rocks.

Then back on tp bitumen for a short drive to Alice Springs. We were booked in to the McDonnell Ranges Caravan Park. Well cery luxurious for us a very nice park and great amenities. Camp kitchens activities each night etc. A bit of a treat.
