Day 12 10th August Alice Springs

DAY 12
10th August

Alice Springs

Another quiet day before we head out into the Tanami Desert tomorrow. We went to Woollies and stocked up, Nev checked the troopy over, got all the washing up to date before heading bush for the next week.  We headed out to the Old Telegraph Station for lunch and a look around. Lovely old buildings and grounds. This is where the first overseas telegraph in Australia was sent from.

Kangaroos in the car park

One of the old buildingsthat has been restored

Beautiful spot was the first Alice Springs

Posted myself a postcard from here with a special post mark on it.

Had tea and completed Blog up to date then bed for an early start tomorrow.

  1. Hi Kerry & Nev,

Looks like you're having a great time - brings back memories!!!

I still remember the Broome to Port Hedland trek as the longest stretch of road in Australia between towns with only the roadhouse in between, sounds like it's still the same.

Will look forward to following your continuing journey.

    Bye for now,

    Love Ann
